Puget Sound Blood Drive!
The next Blood Drive dates are:
April 12, 2010, 1 pm to 7 pm. and August 31, 2010.
As a ministry to the community Bethlehem is working with Puget Sound Blood Center to serve this ongoing need.
Giving blood is a safe and easy process. Sterile, disposable equipment is used to collect each donor’s blood. The entire process is about an hour. Most people can donate blood. In general, those who are at least 18 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more may donate blood; 16-17 years olds may donate with a guardian-signed permission form supplied by the Blood Center. There is no upper age limit for blood donation.
Each unit of blood collected at our drive can benefit up to 3 patients in area hospitals. The blood donations benefit patients who have suffered serious injuries and burns, need transfusions during surgeries and have life-threatening chronic diseases like leukemia and cancer that require frequent transfusions.
Blood donation is literally lifesaving. In fact, 80% of the population will require a blood transfusion at some point in their lives. And when that need occurs, the blood will be there for patients thanks to donors in our community who rolled up their sleeves to donate blood.
For information about the blood drive, please contact Amy Thorleifson at (360) 659-8484 or at philthor1@yahoo.com
Give 1 pint, save 3 lives!

Introduction to Lutheranism:
On Wednesday night, beginning April 22, after Vespers we will be having a new study. I am calling it “Introduction to Lutheranism” and it will be a look at the heart of Luther’s Bible foundation. I will repeat the offering on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. We will be using this class for new members as well and may seek to repeat it on Sundays also.
In May, I will be leading a Bible Study for our Adult Fellowship Hour on the second Tuesday of the month. After our lunch we will be looking at “The Holy Spirit”.
Bible study is for personal faith development. I believe you are my teachers and I love to learn what God is speaking to and through you. We are stronger and wiser when we work and study together.

They ask for your prayers and notes of encouragement while serving in this troubled part of the world.
